I just picked up another ASM2464 it was going cheap £22 delivered

The Hagibis one the the same as my other one its a solid enclosure
will try dumping its factory firmware this time before updating it to the latest

Factory firmware lights up blue when on usb4/tb4 and green on usb 3.x
Updated firmware no light on usb4/tb4 and green on usb 3.x

Do you think that by modifying the CFG you can put it back into operation?

i think i managed to match it cant remember 100% off the top of my head
i think i documented it somewhere
but at worst i will make and spi dump to flash with a programmer
hopefully i will be able to make a flashable bin for the asm2464 flasher to restore to factory firmware
if im lucky i will be able to find a module to insert into newer firmwares but doubt it im not that great at this
just ok

Edit on looking into my folder i saved info on its factory firmware and such it came with

Hagibis Firmware AS_USB4_240417_85_02_04 = I Suspect Custom firmware build for the led's
Standard Firmware AS_USB4_240417_85_00_00 = Normal firmware build

i should be able to backup its firmware and maybe compare the changes if i have a matching build of 85_00_00 to compare
hopefully its a newer firmware build

Yes, I confirm the firmware always ends with 85.00.00, probably a custom firmware.

Edit

You can compare it with the original one.
